[Breaking News] August 6 Hiroshima: Angry Demonstration Crushes War Ceremony

In  the morning of August 6 A-bomb Day, August 6 Hiroshima Grand Action, Grand March Against the Constitutional Revision and War and Zengakuren (All-Japan Federation of Student Self-Government Associations) crushed a war ceremony attended by Takaichi with an angry demonstration, calling for stop the war of aggression against China, a nuclear war.

The ceremony attended by the PM Sanae Takaichi and others of Japanese imperialism, who call the victims of the atomic bomb as Eirei—spirits of war god, dismantle the Three Non-Nuclear Principles, and push towards nuclear armament, is undeniably a war ceremony!

The Japanese imperialist state power, terrified by Hiroshima’s anger, blocked the Motoyasu Bridge, the entrance to the ceremony venue, with numerous riot police vehicles. In response, the first contingent, clad in white helmets and locked in arm-in-arm formation, repelled the riot police’s repression and launched an angry demonstration.

The subsequent chants of the second and third contingents directly impacted Takaichi’s speech. Protests also arose from within the venue. The people’s anger was unleashed upon Takaichi from both inside and outside the venue, exposing the true nature of the war ceremony and trampling upon it.

In the afternoon, the August 6 Hiroshima Grand Rally was held at the Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center, with 550 participants. Following the rally, which declared the resolve to prevent a war of aggression against China under the banner of “Never Again Japanese Imperialist Invasion of Asia! Never Again Hiroshima and Nagasaki!”, a demonstration was held throughout the city.

On August 5th, a pre-rally and demonstration was  also held in front of the Atomic Bomb Dome.
